Chocolate Dipped Stuffed Dates

1 lb pitted dates
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup red wine or Grand Marnier
½ cup toasted whole almonds
1» lb semi- sweet chocolate

  1. Soak dates in sufficient hot water and vanilla extract to cover for 30 minutes. Drain and pat dry.
  2. Soak dates in red wine 1 hour. Drain if necessary.
  3. Stuff each date with an almond.
  4. Melt chocolate.
  5. Dip each date in chocolate to coat completely.
  6. Arrange on wax paper.
  7. Refrigerate until chocolate is set and ready to serve.
